about

“Scavenges, Time-travels, and Scrapbooks” contains various pieces created out of gathered matter from notebooks, phone recordings, and computer sketches piling up along the way of a few years, across a few locations.

The album opens on “Painkiller II”, second version of the very first Purpur Spytt’s song, a cathartic spit that turned into a mellow statement. “On a Circle” invites you to reflect on rainy days. Speaking of the weather, “Out” points through the window. “Luggage in the Stairs” questions the immaterial heritage. “Heatwave” talks about our fucked up world and opens a floor to dance on it. “A Mechanism” is a smoky thought on human behaviors and their origins. “Get Out” points to the door now. “Freewheeling” is basically about indoor cycling in the mud. “Announcement” points to the head. “Trapped” mocks the most terrible feeling. “The Circumstances” is the last Staches song that never got recorded and it laughs about confusing the context for an excuse. “Go Outside” kicks your butt out now, last reminder to get out of your head sometimes. As a closure, “Party Town” describes a long and laborious attempt to exit the party zone.
